Como takes out Schools title

Como Secondary College from Western Australia has won its fourth Australian School Teams Championship in five years after triumphing by just one stroke from Hills Educational Foundation. Led by individual winner Aidan Bae, the three-man Como team posted a combined total of 467 over two rounds at Peninsula Country Golf Club in Victoria. Como Secondary College has over 800 students and is situated just six kilometres outside of Perth. Golf is one of its four special programs (in addition to Science & Technology, Hockey, and Music) and the school previously won the event in 2004, 2005 and 2006. Runners-up, Hills Educational Foundation is part of Hills International Golf Club and has 77 enrolled golf students. It is 45 minutes from Brisbane and previously tasted success in the event when the school won in 2003. Bae claimed individual honours with a combined score of two-under and is next playing in Boys&apos Amateur at Spring Valley Golf Club in two weeks time. It was a day to be remembered for Vanessa Tranfield of Emerald Secondary College in Victoria who recorded her first ever eagle a three on the 400-metre par five 5th hole.
