Concord & Avondale set for women’s final

Concord have booked their spot in next week’s Women’s Metropolitan Major Pennant final after a nail-biting three matches to two win over defending Champions, The Australian.

In a contest that came down to the result of the last pair on the final hole, it was Concord’s Belinda Ji who won the hole and the match over her opponent Amy Chu.

Concord’s other wins came from Kim Yerin, with a 5&4 win, and Sophie Yip, who had an 8&6 result.

In the other Semi, The Lakes had no answer for a dominant Avondale, who ran out winners 4 1/2 to 1/2. Kara Williams led the way with a 5&4 win, while June Song and Bella Kim also recorded 5&3 wins.

The Division Two final will See St Michael’s take on Ryde Parramatta after Ryde Parramatta ensured their spot with a three /12 to 1 1/2 win in the last round robin match.

St. Michael’s, already assured of a place in the final, grabbed a 3 1/2 to 1 1/2 win over Stonecutters Ridge, to finish the year with an impressive 28-2 win/loss record for the season.
