Conran finishes third in Nagoya

Steve Conran has shot a four-under-par round of 67 to finish outright third at the Token Homemate Cup at Token Tado Country Club Nagoya on Sunday. Conran finished two shots behind winner Katsumasa Miyamoto, who&aposs brilliant final-round 66 earned him victory. The 35-year-old began the day three shots off the lead, but a bogey-free five-under-par round elevated him to eight under overall for a one-shot triumph and his seventh Japan Tour victory. Overnight leader Taichi Teshima signed for a third successive one-under 70 to take the runners-up spot. Brendan Jones was the next best Australian at two-over in a tie for 16th, while New Zealander David Smail finished in ninth place. Miyamoto opened with a birdie on the first and reached the turn in 32 after successive birdies at the fourth and fifth. Teshima and Miyamoto each recorded birdie fours on the par-five 17th but Miyamoto claimed a birdie three on the 451-yard 18th. Teshima could only make a par four as Miyamoto triumphed. Korean Dong-Hwan Lee was fourth after a level-par final round of 71 while teenager Ryo Ishikawa, who had shared the lead with Teshima going into the final round, tied for fifth place. The 16-year-old was three over for the day to finish alongside Korean SK Ho and Ryuichi Oda.
