Cooke poised to break down career wall

If Adelaide’s Peter Cooke needed inspiration, this might be it.

Cooke, 30, took a stroll along the Great Wall of China this week as he prepares for what could be the biggest week of his professional career.

The seven-year pro could earn a Web.Com Tour card for 2016 should he rise one place in the PGA Tour China’s order of merit at the Cadillac Championship in Beijing.

Cooke has three top-five finishes this season in four starts and is sixth on the OOM, with just five earning automatic promotion for next season.

Cooke is 94,000 Chinese Yuan behind J.H. Wang in fifth place, with New South Welshmen Rohan Blizard and Adam Hawley, and two other South Australians – Max McCardle and David Lutterus – still in the frame with a big result.

Kiwi Josh Geary and Canadian Eugene Wong are assured of promotion, the runaway leaders of the OOM.
