An upgrade to Cootamundra Country Club will be completed after the member for Cootamundra, Steph Cooke, delivered on a by-election commitment.
The $1.35 million commitment will see the club complete upgrades around the course complex including dam, machine shed, and a new building facade.
MS Cooke made the announcement to the Golf Club last week as part of a $3.88 million package spread out over 23 community projects in the Cootamundra-Gundagai region.
“I want today to be about people, and about the tireless volunteers and community groups from Gundagai and Cootamundra who together make up this thriving local government area.
“Without this opportunity many of these projects would have struggled to get funding,” Ms Cooke said.
Golf NSW CEO Stuart Fraser said the upgrades to the club’s facilities will not only benefit the local community but also assist the growth of the sport in an important regional centre.
“The improvements to the course, Machinery shed and clubhouse at Cootmundra will ensure the club remains an important part of the local community.
“The funding to complete the upgrades will be very much appreciated by the club. It will assist them in driving membership and ensuring participation in the sport continues to grow,” Mr Fraser said.
