2018 Country Golf Week kicked off today on a brilliant sun-filled spring day as the state’s best men and women country golfers flocked to Melbourne to represent their districts in this traditional competition.

Men’s & Women’s Country Golf Week consists of three divisions of round-robin match-play for nominated teams from each of the 15 country districts across Victoria.

Played as standalone events since 1924 (Men) and 1933 (Women), the Men play for the Shield (Division 1), Plate (Division 2) and Bowl (Division 3) trophies, while the Women play for the Alice Coltman Cups donated by the late Mrs O.H. Coltman (Divisions 1 & 2) and Mrs L. Carstairs (Division 3).

Beginning last year, both competitions are now played in conjunction with each other to align with Golf Victoria’s aim to concurrently stage as many men’s & women’s State titles as possible.

Day one contests were played at Southern (Division 1), Keysborough (Division 2) and The National – Long Island site (Division 3) with all results and progressive ladders available by clicking here.
