Country Wk Results – Lana Barlow wins SA Country Champs

A successful Golf SA Women’s Country Week was played from 27 to 29 July 2016 with 230 players competing across the four grades.

In the Silver (0-16 h/cap) event held on the Eyre Peninsula at Tumby Bay Golf Club – Lana Barlow from the Millicent Golf Club was victorious with scores of 83-77 (160). Barlow finished four strokes ahead of Lameroo’s Deb Christie 82-82 (164) to claim the Country Championship. 

Vicki Klingberg from Kimba finished with the best net aggregate with a score of 148. The winners of the 18 hole Handicap foursomes event were Lana Barlow from Millicent & Sally Attril from Mount Osmond with a score of nett 72.

The Bronze Salver (16.1-21.4 h/cap) hosted by Whyalla Golf Club in the Northern District, was won by Kay Rasheed from Kingston SE Golf Club with a 36 hole score of 191 also taking out the Bronze Country Championship. Runner up was Leonie Kellaway (Whyalla) 193. 

Kellaway also won the best net aggregate with a net score 151. 18 hole Handicap foursomes winners were Elizabeth Cameron from Penfield & Jean Brown from Whyalla with a score of nett 76. 

Ardorssan Golf Club (Yorke Peninsula District) hosted the Bronze Shield (21.5-28 h/cap) event with Lesleigh Edwards from Keith taking the honours with a score of 192. The Best Net Aggregate award went to Jill Taylor from Balaklava with a score of nett 142. 

Sandra Winter-Dewhurst and Susan Bywaters from North Adelaide claimed the 18 hole Handicap foursomes event with a score of nett 72.

Barossa Valley in the Mid North hosted the Bronze Plate (28.1-45.4 h/cap), with Carolyn Mutton from Balaklava victorious with 66 stableford points over 36 holes. Westward Ho member Pamela Van Niekerk with 59 points was runner up on countback. 

Winners of the 18 hole Handicap foursomes event were Annie Snadjer and Sandi Yates from Keith Golf Club with net 69.5

In The Country v Metro Teams Event – Country won the top 3 grades with Metro winning the Bronze Plate on countback.
