Crows swoop to win AFL Golf Championship

FULL LEADERBOARD AND SCORES Final Team Scores PHOTO GALLERY Adelaide Football Club legends Tony Modra and Wayne Weidemann continued the Crows&apos winning start to the season with a narrow victory in the 2012 AFL Golf Championship presented by Crown Lager Social Golf Club. The Crows team finished on 92 points in the team stableford event, just one point clear of Essendon on 91. Weidemann, nicknamed “Weed,” developed a cult following during his time at the Crows from 1992-1996. “I&aposm not a great golfer but today we had some luck,” Weidemann said. Essendon&aposs Angus Monfries and Brent Stanton led at various stages during the tournament but were overrun by Adelaide late in the day. Carlton and Greater Western Sydney finished in a tie with Hawthorn, led by Matt Suckling and Ryan Schoenmakers, in third place with 83 points. Port Adelaide finished sixth while Sydney finished in seventh place.
