Cumberland win 2015 Women’s Coronation Medal

Cumberland CGC have come through to win the Women's Coronation Medal for 2015. Lynwood CC held onto the lead from early in the piece only to be beaten by one shot by Cumberland CGC finishing in the final groups of the day and a winning total of 328. Representatives were Anna Park (13), Hee Son (12), Kate Stuart (16) and Bronwyn Smith (14). Runners up were Lynwood CC on 329 with Catherine Coates (1), Debbie-Ann Court (11), Debra Northwood (23) and Barbara Randell (22) representing Lynwood.

Individual winners from Manly were Debra Northwood (23) from Lynwood having a nett 74 to take out Nett Winner and Stephanie Kyriacou from St. Michael's taking out the scratch with a score of 82 on a countback.

Lynwood individual winners were Patricia Wilson (17) from Beverley Park winning the nett with a 75 and Wakehurst's Debbie Nunn winning the scratch with an 81. 

Manly and Lynwood Golf Club's hosted this years Coronation Medal with 212 players representing 53 clubs from all over the state.

The 2015 Women's Coronation Medal will take place on Monday 14 September at Manly and Lynwood Golf Clubs. Representing their Club and playing in teams of four, 53 teams will compete in this years event.

The Coronation Medal has become a most prestigious Event. The Medal was donated by the English Ladies Golf Union to celebrate the Coronation Of King Edward V11 and is an 18-holes stroke handicap competition for teams of four players on handicaps from plus to 22, played over two courses which are determined by the previous year's competition.

Each Club entering the competition nominates the players to represent it and the courses on which each pair will compete.

The Coronation Medal is awarded to the team with the best aggregate of four nett scores.
