JNJG Member Laura Cummings was recently named the 2013-14 Western Region Academy of Sport (WRAS) – Golf Athlete of the Year at their recent annual awards dinner held at Orange Ex-Services Club.
Sixteen year old Cummings who is a member of Cowra Golf Club has reduced from 6 to 3 while in the program.
Laura contributes her improvement to the considerable gains she has made from the WRAS Strength and Conditioning Program and assistance from program Head Coach Bruce McLean.
Bruce McLean was also selected as joint WRAS Coach of the Year.
Another JNJG Member Dylan Thompson (Bathurst Golf Club) was also recognised for the gains he has made in his physical development by winning a Strength and Conditioning Award.
As the WRAS Golf Athlete of the Year recipient Laura also receives a 12 month scholarship with Titleist/FootJoy. Laura will receive Titleist Balls, hats and gloves and a pair of Foot-Joy shoes.
