Curtis Luck Wins NSW Strokeplay Medal

Western Australia&aposs Curtis Luck has continued his fine recent form by winning the 72 Hole Strokeplay NSW Medal today. His final round six under par 65 was too much for his opponents to keep pace with as he ran away to a five stroke victory over Victoria&aposs Ben Eccles. The NSW trio of Cameron Davis, Kevin Yuan and Troy Moses round out the top five going into Sunday&aposs Match Play at Concord. MEN&aposS NSW AMATEUR MATCH PLAY DRAW Rounds 1& 2 Summary Victoria s Ben Eccles (Victoria GC) has retained his lead after the second round of the Men’sNSW Medal, shooting three under (69) at Castle Hill to go along with his six under (65) the day before at Pennant Hills. Eccles, on 134 after 36-holes, leads by one shot from England s Ryan Evans (Wellingborough GC) and West Australian Curtis Luck (Cottesloe GC) who both had rounds of 68 and 67 for a total 135. Kevin Yuan (The Australian GC) is in fourth position on 138, while New Zealand s Jason Gulasekharam (North Shore GC) and Jack Bush (Mona Vale GC) are a further shot behind on 139. The leading 60 players plus ties will contest the final 36-holes tomorrow at Pennant Hills Golf Club. There is a three-way tie at the top of the leader board after the first 18-holes of the Women’s NSW 72-hole Stroke Play Championship. Queensland s Jamie Dougan (Beaudesert GC), Western Australia s Hayley Bettencourt (Mandurah GC) and Sydney-sider Emma Betland (St. Michael s GC) all had rounds of one-under 73. Eight players are hot on their heels, shooting even par rounds of 74 today. In the NSW Club Champion of Champions there is a two-way tie at the top with Aliza Huff (Pennant Hills GC) and Elizabeth Elmassian (The Australian GC) both having even par rounds of 74.
