Fans have flocked to Royal Sydney Golf Club on a pleasant afternoon in Rose Bay to watch the third round after the cut was made this morning. Leader Stephen Dartnall will join Chris Gaunt (who soared into contention with a second round course record equalling 65) and New Zealander David Smail in the final group at 1.40pm. Mathew Goggin, Steven Conran and Ewan Porter tee off together in the group before the leaders. A key group will be Rod Pampling, Robert Allenby and Jason Norris. Allenby and Pampling are both breathing down the necks of the leaders and a sudden surge on the traditional moving day could see either of them come into contention. On the tenth tee, Steve Allan, Geoff Ogilvy and Brett Rumford will tee off shortly with a big following for Australia&aposs number one player expected to cheer him up the leaderboard. Local Sydney boy Peter Lonard starts with former National Squad member Rohan Blizard and Englishman Simon Griffiths who had the competition&aposs second ace.
