Denis Dale (NSW) is the 2008 Australian Men’sSenior Match Play Champion having triumphed over Rick Oliver (also NSW) 6/4 in today s Final at Barwon Heads, Victoria. Dale played high quality golf to be 1 under the card when the match concluded. After halving the first hole, Dale took charge and was 4 up after 9 holes. Oliver offered some resistance, winning the 12th, but Dale was too strong and closed out the Match at the 14th. Dale and Oliver have a history of contests on the big stage with them being declared joint 2007 Australian Senior Amateur Champions, after poor conditions prevented a play-off being held.
