Charlie Dann (Pelican Waters) has added the Keperra Bowl to his trophy cabinet and secured a spot in next week’s Isuzu Queensland Open.
The Pelican Waters member was consistent from the start with an impressive opening round of six-under par-66, including one eagle, six birdies and two bogies.
Dann continued his form returning a further two rounds of 66 in Rounds 2 and 3. With an overnight lead by three shots he was out to capture his second National Ranking Event.
An opening birdie on the first hole settled the nerves early, but a missed green on the par-4 3rd hole resulted in a bogey.
A further four birdies and three bogies including a disappointing three putt on the 18th hole was enough to return a final round one-under par-71 for a total of 269 (-19), victorious by three shots.
Zach Murray (Commonwealth) returning rounds of 76, 71, 66, 68 (-16) and David Micheluzzi (Metropolitan) with rounds of 68, 66, 67, 71 (-16) shared second place.
The Keperra Country Golf Club proved again to be a fantastic Championship venue with the course presented in prime condition.
The majority of the field will now stay on and tee up with the Professionals for the 2016 Isuzu Queensland Open Pre-Qualifying event held on Monday at Keperra and Virginia Golf Clubs.
The Isuzu Queensland Open will be played at The Brisbane Golf Club from 20-23 October. Visit www.qldopen.com.au for further information.
