Day 2 Report – Australian Interstate Series

AUSTRALIAN MEN S INTERSTATE TEAMS MATCHES, Royal Perth Golf Club, Rounds 3&4 Australian Men&aposs Interstate – Round 3 Australian Men&aposs Interstate – Round 4 Victoria moved into first place following two dominant victories on the second day of the Australian Men’sInterstate Teams Matches at Royal Perth Golf Club. The Victorians, led by good performances from Nathan Holman and Geoff Drakeford, defeated South Australia 5-2 and Queensland 6-1 to move into top spot. Western Australia is in second place after a win over Tasmania and a squared result with Queensland. Brady Watt and Daniel Hoeve both won for the Western Australians. Queensland is in third place with a gap to New South Wales in fourth. South Australia is in fifth place and Tasmania is in sixth place after producing one of the upsets of the championship with a 4-3 victory over New South Wales in the morning matches. The foursomes section of the finals begins tomorrow afternoon. AUSTRALIAN WOMEN S INTERSTATE TEAMS MATCHES (for the Gladys Hay Memorial Cup), The Western Australian Golf Club, Rounds 3&4 Australian Women&aposs Interstate – Round 3 Australian Women&aposs Interstate – Round 4 New South Wales increased their lead at the top of the table at the Australian Women’s Interstate Teams Matches at The Western Australian Golf Club. Leading overnight, the NSW team beat Tasmania 4 to and South Australia 5-0 to move a contest and three matches clear. Carly Beck and Julia Boland were among those to record strong results for the leaders. The Western Australians are in second place following a morning victory over Queensland and a narrow afternoon win over Tasmania. Minjee Lee and Whitney Hillier were undefeated on Day 2 for the local favourites. Victoria is in third place after a win and a loss but has breathing space from South Australia in fourth place. Queensland is in fifth place and Tasmania are in sixth place. The foursomes section of the finals begins tomorrow afternoon.
