Men&aposs Round 2 Results Women&aposs Round 2 Results Colts Round 2 Results Australian Men’sInterstate Teams Matches, Oxley Golf Club Queensland again made the most of home state advantage to maintain its lead at Oxley Golf Club. The overnight leaders continued their good form with an 8 to 1 win over Tasmania in the second round as 2010 Queensland Stroke Play champion Cameron Smith remained undefeated. Taking a 3-1 lead into the afternoon singles, Queenslanders Brett Rankin and Marika Batibasaga recorded solid wins as nothing could separate Tim Hart (QLD) and Ryan McCarthy (TAS) with their match squared. Tasmania s Kalem Richardson also squared his match with Keperra Bowl champion Gavin Fairfax. Victoria sits in second place following a 7 to 3 victory over New South Wales. The Victorians matched Queensland s 3-1 margin in the morning foursomes and wins for Kieran Pratt, Daniel Beckmann and Luke Bleumink ensured a Victorian win. Late rallies from Rhys McGovern and Michael Smyth got points on the board for NSW. New South Wales is in third place and five matches and a contest behind second place following their loss to Victoria. Western Australia moved to within touching distance of New South Wales with a narrow 6-5 victory over South Australia in a very even contest. South Australia and Tasmania are in fifth and sixth place respectively. Australian Women’s Interstate Teams Matches, McLeod Country Golf Club Western Australia produced an outstanding overall display to defeat South Australia 8-0 and secure the narrowest of outright leads after the second round of play at the Australian Women’s Interstate Teams Matches for the Gladys Hay Memorial Cup in Brisbane. Just half a match separates Western Australia, Queensland and Victoria. Western Australia s dominant win included comprehensive singles wins for Jayde Panos, Minjee Lee and Jessica Speechley in addition the 3-0 clean sweep of the morning foursomes. Victoria and Queensland are tied in second place following strong wins over Tasmania and New South Wales. Queensland won 6 to 1 1/2 as Ali Orchard partnered with Corinne Swan to win their foursomes 8&6 before Orchard won her singles match 6&5. The Queenslanders controlled the afternoon singles with solid wins as Tasmania s Ashlee Dewhurst squared her match with Ashley Ona to remain undefeated. Victoria remain firmly in contention following their 6-2 win over New South Wales. Victoria took all three matches from the foursomes before Stacey Keating, Breanna Elliott and Elissa Orr won to secure their win. New South Wales sit in fourth place while Tasmania (5th) and South Australia (6th) complete the leaderboard. Australian Colts Interstate Teams Matches, Wynnum Golf Club Queensland moved into a 1 match lead over Victoria following the second round of the Australian Colts Interstate Teams Matches at Wynnum Golf Club. Led by Luke Marino and Taylor Macdonald, the Queenslanders defeated Tasmania 6-2 to unseat New South Wales at the top of the table. Victoria moved into second place following their 5 to 2 win over New South Wales. Geoff Drakeford and Travis Sharpe were among those undefeated for Victoria. Western Australia defeated South Australia 6-2 to move into fourth place, just behind New South Wales in third. Tasmania and South Australia complete the leaderboard with neither side having won a contest.
