Defending champions New South Wales go into Thursday’s final round knowing they will be crowned champions if they can avoid a 5-0 defeat at the hands of the ACT.

NSW defeated Western Australia 3 ½ to 1 ½ in the morning and Tasmania (4 ½ to ½ ) in the afternoon to take a comfortable lead in first place.
Ricky Kato and Nathan Waters won both of their matches for NSW.
Queensland is in second place knowing they need to beat Western Australia 5-0 tomorrow and hope the ACT defeats to NSW by the same score line to be joint champions.
The Queenslanders had a narrow 3-2 win over the ACT in the morning before accounting for the Victorian side 5-0 in the afternoon with Sam Daley and Alex Wall victorious in both their matches.
South Australia moved into third place, one contest and a match behind Queensland following comfortable wins over Tasmania (4 ½ to ½) and WA (4-1).
Anthony Murdaca, Ben Stowe and Moe Nagi won both their matches to push SA into the top three.
Western Australia is in fourth place following losses to NSW and South Australia but has a contest and 4 ½ match lead over Victoria who sit fifth.
The Victorians had a day of mixed fortunes – beating the Northern Territory 5-0 in the morning before losing 5-0 to Queensland in the afternoon.
The ACT moved into sixth place while Tasmania and the Northern Territory round out the leaderboard in seventh and eighth place respectively.
The final round is played on Thursday.
