Day gives home life a real protein shake-up

There are moments in life when you realise trouble is brewing, but yet somehow push on.

Jason Day isn't immune.

As the world No.1 held court in his US Open media conference today, he was asked about his son Dash's starring role in a new Father's Day commercial for the US PGA Tour's Superstore.

The conversation drifted towards family generally and Day's dive into irretrievable household oblivion steadily gathered steam.

"People forget he's three (years old). He's a humongous toddler," Day said to a now chortling media throng.

"He's very big. And you should see (seven-month-old) Lucy, she's even bigger. She's a fatty."

Slow down, JD — you're on a slippery slope here.

But no …

"It's fine. Like (wife) Ellie, I think she has protein shakes in those things."

He didn't, did he?

Yep, he did.

"I don't know what she's doing. But for some reason, she's a very, very big baby.

"I don't know how other people have real tiny babies."

And then it dawned — as wide as the huge smile across the Queenslander's face.

"But anyways, I'm off point now. I can't remember what I was going to say.

"Thinking about Ellie."

Ummm, yep.

Contacted later, Ellie was all smiles — publicly at least.
