Deaf golf teams set for World Championships

Deaf Golf Australia has announced the team to contest the 9th World Deaf Golf Championships to be held at Tsu Country Club, Mie, Japan on 9-12 October 2012. The 2012 World Deaf Golf Championships is expected to be attended by approximately 100 golfers from 16 countries including Australia, Canada, Denmark, England, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Japan, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Scotland, South Africa, Sweden, the United States and Wales. The Men’sTeam will be: Mark Aird Queensland Jack Besley Victoria (Current Australian Men’sDeaf Golf Champion) Luke Ellis New South Wales Andrew Honeysett New South Wales Phil Malm Tasmania Jack McLeod New South Wales Mark Aird and Luke Ellis will act as co-captains of the Men’sTeam. The Women’s team will be: Maree Evans New South Wales (Current Australian Women’s Deaf Golf Champion) Jennifer Maric Queensland The Senior team will be: Paul Hammond New South Wales Kevin Hayden Queensland Tony Klimek Western Australia (Current Australian Senior Deaf Golf Champion) Wayne Parsons Queensland The Team Manager will be Wendy Home, Queensland.
