A successful Golf SA Women’s Country Week was played from 22 to 24 July 2014 with around 330 players competing across the four grades.
In the Silver (0-16h/cap) event held on the Yorke Peninsula at Wallaroo Golf Club – Deb Christie from the Lameroo Golf Club was victorious yet again with scores of 76-81 (157) one stroke ahead of Lyn McGough from Kooyonga.
Wendy Featherstone from Barmera finished with the best net aggregate with a score of 140. The winners of the 18 hole Handicap foursomes event were Jane Allen & Jill Williams from Naracoorte with a score of 70.5.
The Bronze Salver (16.1-21.4 h/cap) hosted by Balaklava Golf Club in the Mid North District, was won by Karen Chenoweth from the Kooyonga Golf Club with a 36 hole score of 182.
Best net aggregate also went to Chenoweth with a nett score of 146. The Winners of the 18 hole Handicap foursomes event were Virginia Lacey and Karen Chenoweth (Kooyonga).
Port Augusta Golf Club (Northern District) hosted the Bronze Shield (21.5-28 h/cap) with Rosemary Hage from Victor Harbor taking the honours with a score of 202. The Best Net Aggregate award went to Barbara Harry (Westward Ho) on 144.
Sue Bywaters & Glenda Strawbridge from Pt Augusta claimed the 18 hole Handicap foursomes event with a score of 70.5.
Bordertown in the South East hosted the Bronze Plate (28.1-45.4 h/cap), with local player Allison Halliday victorious with 79 stableford points over 36 holes. Deb Wallmun (Royal Adelaide) with 78 points was runner up. 79 year old Halliday also won the Veterans Trophy.
Winners of the 18 hole Handicap foursomes event were Marg Thompson & Glenys Roberts from Willunga with nett 72.
