A successful Golf SA Women’s Country Week was played from 21 to 23 July 2015 with 282 players competing across the four grades.
In the Silver (0-16h/cap)event held in the South East at Mount Gambier Golf Club – Deb Percey from the Kooyonga Golf Club was victorious with scores of 89-85 (174). Percey finished three strokes ahead of three players all tied on (177). They were Lana Barlow (Millicent) who was runner up on countback from Jodie Deacon (Kooyonga) and Julie Oldfield (Mount Gambier).
Janet Nottle from Bordertown finished with the best net aggregate with a score of 156. The winners of the 18 hole Handicap foursomes event were Sally Graham and Karen Brien from Blackwood.
The Bronze Salver (16.1-21.4 h/cap) hosted by Willunga Golf Club in the Southern District, was won by Collette Neild from the host club with a 36 hole score of 200.
Best net aggregate went to Anne McDonald (Willunga) 159.
Murray Bridge Golf Club (Murraylands District) hosted the Bronze Shield (21.5-28 h/cap) event with Angela Hyde from Lameroo taking the honours with a score of 198. The Best Net Aggregate award also went to Hyde with a score of nett 148.
Key Reynolds & Lee-Ann Schinnick from Pt Augusta claimed the 18 hole Handicap foursomes event with a score of nett 73.
Port Lincoln in the Eyre Peninsula hosted the Bronze Plate (28.1-45.4 h/cap), with Viv Martin from Minlaton victorious with 66 stableford points over 36 holes. Local member Lucile Greenwith 59 points was runner up. Green also won the Veterans Trophy.
Winners of the 18 hole Handicap foursomes event were Deb Sykes (Port Lincoln) & Leonie Taylor (Port Augusta) with nett 76.
