December E-News competition

Last month we were celebrating the Australian Open and we asked you to tell us why you love golf and why you deserved two tickets to Royal Sydney Golf Club to watch the action. We had some excellent responses. Congratulations to Emily McNeill from Batemans Bay who had our winner with her answer: I love golf because it gives you the satisfaction of success and also failure. You may have the worst round of golf you have had in your life, but you hit one shot amongst them that is perfect and that is why you practice and come back for another game. You strive to hit every shot like that one. Golf helps you meet new people and is a great sport to keep fit and active. I love golf because it keeps me coming back! I would love to win tickets to the Australian Open because it is such an amazing opportunity and experience to see the best golfers in action. I could not afford to buy tickets to the event so it would be such an honour to win these tickets and just be amazed at the quality of golfers. Even if I was in the worst seat or position on the course, I would love every minute of it. Just watching and hoping to pick up a pointer or two. To experience this, would be the highlight of my life. Other top answers included: Ian Harkiss Golf is clearly a game that the immortals claim can be mastered. I fear this is not so.I am of the opinion that once mastered , the game has it&aposs immediate revenge in destroying one&aposs sole, sending us back to a life characterised by disbelief, disgust and self-doubt. There is a limit to the mental and physical punishment any of us can tolerate. My reason for playing the game is to see how much my body can really endure.By the way, last week I found the secret to immortality….sadly I still had the 18th to play! Tickets! Well, they would give me chance to claim immortality….even if only for a fleeting moment! Grant Rud, Norway I love golf because it gives so many ups and downs in such a short time – and it is allways somethings to be better on in the game. I would like tickets to the 2008 Australian Open because I have once seen the European tour for ladies in Norway last year. Great seeing Nikki Garrett play – now I would like to see the Aussie guys in action. And to be honest; it is so cold here (below zero) I need some hot weather and playing golf. Here we can&apost play because of the snow. To celebrate and savour another wonderful year in the world of golf, we&aposre asking you to nominate the best victory of 2008. It can be from overseas in a major or close to home in a club competition and everywhere in between. There&aposs a box of Srixon balls on offer to keep you going through the summer months. Q: What was your best victory for 2008? Competition will be fierce so you&aposll have to bring your best answers to the table! We will publish the best responses on the website and share them with you in our next edition of E-News! Click here to enter Terms and Conditions Closes 11:59pm 10 January 2009. The winner will be announced in the next edition of Golf Australia&aposs E News. One entry per person. You must be a Golf Australia E Club member to be in the draw. Winning entry will be at the judge&aposs discretion and no correspondance will be entered into.
