Defending champion Jacqui Morgan (NSW) and top qualifier Robyn Puckett (USA) have both progressed to the quarter finals at the Australian Women’s Senior Amateur Championship at Tanunda Pines Golf Club in the Barossa Valley in South Australia. In cool conditions, Morgan enjoyed a comfortable 5&4 victory over Annabel Harris (QLD) while Puckett defeated Lorry Brown (SA) 4&3. Puckett will play Josie Ryan (QLD) in the quarter finals and Morgan will play Liz Smyth (ACT). Robyn Boniface (NZ) will play Wendy O&aposConnell (QLD) and Ros Fisher (WA) will play Jill Blenkey (NSW) in the other quarter finals. The quarter and semi finals will be played on Thursday. The Australian Women&aposs Senior Amateur Championship is open to players aged 55 years and over. Players contest 36-holes qualifying, with the leading 16 players progressing to elimination match play. The leading eight players in four separate age divisions also qualify for age flights.
