Victorian Aiden Didone has come from behind to win the 2019 men’s Tasmanian Open championship at Ulverstone.
The 21-year-old Metropolitan Golf Club member shot a final round of five-under-par 67 to draw even with overnight leader Hayden Hopewell, of Western Australia, who carded three-under.
The pair progressed to a playoff with Didone defeating Hopewell on the second hole with a birdie three.
Early leader, Adam Thorpe from the Australian Capital Territory, placed third with a one-under-par round of 71 today.
Launceston Golf Club’s Greg Longmore was the leading Tasmanian in fifth place at two-over-par.

Overnight leader, Rebecca Kay from Queensland, has maintained her good form to win the 2019 women’s Tasmanian Open championship at Ulverstone Golf Club.
The 20-year-old Coolangatta and Tweed Heads gofler finished today with a two-under-par 71 to defeat her nearest opponent, Kathryn Norris, by four strokes.
Norris, who plays her golf at the Mandurah Country Club in Western Australia, carded a one-under 72 today to finish two-under overall.
Queenslanders Caitlyn Campbell-Nyman and Isabelle Taylor tied for third place on six-over-par.
Local member, Sarah Johnstone, was the leading Tasmanian in eighth place on thirteen-over-par.
