New South Wales Professional Dimi Papadatos is in a great position to secure playing privileges on the European PGA Tour for 2016 as the final stage of qualifying school at the PGA Catalunya Resort in Spain continues.
The Central Coast golfer has rocketed up the leader board and is tied 9th with 54 holes to play after opening with rounds of 67,70 and 65.
Papadatos took advantage of ideal scoring conditions on the less challenging Tour Course to post a bogey-free third round of 5-under par 65.
Of the other NSW professionals vying for playing rights in Europe, Cronulla’s Scott Arnold (2-under par) sits just inside the cut line tied 64th, while Charlestown’s Jake Higginbottom sits at 132nd and looks a long shot to make the cut from where he sits.
The field will swap courses for tonight’s fourth round, after which the field will be cut to the top 70 and ties for the final two rounds.
The top 25 players and ties at the end of the six round qualifying event will earn places on the 2016 European Tour.
The event concludes on Friday Morning AEDST.
