Time is running out for Victorian golfers to participate in a fantastic fundraising event to support people with disability.
Victorians will have the chance in May to be a part of a fantastic fundraiser being held at the Greg Norman designed Sanctuary Lakes Resort on 8th May.
The charity golf day is a fundraiser for Victoria’s peak body for disability sport and recreation – Disability Sport & Recreation (DSR).
For DSR, this is the first time they have used golf as a vehicle for their fund raising activities. CEO of DSR, Richard Amon said golf was a great fit, considering the commitment Golf Victoria has made in making the sport accessible for Victorian with disabilities.
“Not only with golfers be treated to a great day on the course, we have planned clinics and demonstrations on the driving range, it will be a great chance to see how people with disability can get involved in the sport.” Amon said.
DSR is a strong partner of Golf Victoria, giving people with disability access to golf programs and access to clubs and facilities.
Golf Victoria Inclusion Manager Christian Hamilton said the golf day represented a great opportunity to showcase the sport to key stakeholders of DSR and show how accessible the sport is for people with disability.
“We have a great relationship with DSR, we hope the Victorian golfing community can really get behind this day. The proceeds will help DSR continue the great work they do in making sport accessible for all.” Hamilton said.
Sponsor opportunities, group packages and individual spaces are available on the day with prizes, dinner, food & drinks also provided.
