Queensland s Jaimee Dougan leads the 2012 Elvie Whitesides 72-Hole Stroke Play Championship following the first round. Dougan carded a three-under-par round of 70 to lead Dottie Ardina of the Philippines and defending champion Minjee Lee of Western Australia on two-under-par (71). Tasmania s Ashlee Dewhurst is tied for fourth with Victoria s Su-Hyun Oh and Jayvie Agojo of the Philippines on even-par (73). Held in conjunction with the Elvie event is the Tasmanian Women’s Senior, B and C Grade Championships over 36-holes. Tasmania Golf Club’s Margaret Leary holds a one stroke lead over local member Anne Medlycott in the Senior Championship. Leary returned a round of 81 while Medlycott carded 82. Taking charge in the B Grade Championship is local member Dianne Ratcliffe with a round of 94. While Ulverstone Golf Club’s Maxeen Fennell looks set to defend her C Grade title with a round of 107.
