Droop wins Dunes Medal

Yarrawonga's Frazer Droop has signaled his return to the elite amateur winners circle with victory at the Dunes Medal.

The 2015 Port Phillip Open Amateur champion & member of the all conquering 2015 Victorian Men's state team took out this year's Dunes Medal with a final round 69 for a total of 282. Droop claimed victory by two strokes from Queensland's Shae Wools-Cobb with fellow Victorian Cameron John finishing in third place four shots adrift.

Droop now joins the like's of Jason Day & fellow Victorian's Todd Sinnott & Alistair Presnell on the Dunes Medal honour roll.     

In the Women's championship, Queensland's Karis Davidson finished on top with a total of 297. Victoria duo Stephanie Bunque & Kono Matsumoto finished the highest placed Victorian's in third & fourth place respectively.

Attention now moves to the 2016 Men's & Women's Port Phillip Open Amateur/Victorian Amateur championships commencing Friday 9 December – Wednesday 14 December.
