Eastlake Golf Club Come and Try Day

clear=”left” />
On Thursday 20th March Eastlake Golf Club hosted a free ‘Come and Try’ golf session for children from around the area including local schools and members' children. The afternoon was very successful with over twenty children turning up and giving golf a go.

Three different skill stations were set up – putting, chipping and long game. They all had a turn at each skill. With children grouped in rough age groups, they were rotated around the stations and seemed to enjoy each skill, even the three year olds ran around and had fun using the Snag Golf and Tri Kit equipment. After the groups had rotated around all the different skill stations the children headed back to the club house for a sausage sizzle and drink.

The day was put on to generate interest from the children and parents to come and join the junior program Eastlake Golf Club will be running in Term 2. Many parents and children loved the afternoon and said they would like to sign up for junior program.

A big thanks must go to all the volunteers that helped out on the day and for Eastlake Golf Club hosting the event and giving all the children, golfers and non-golfers the opportunity to come and learn some skills and have fun at the golf course.
