Edition 9 – ‘Best of golf in SA’ at Barossa Valley GC

The Barossa Valley Golf Club is situated just 5 minutes’ drive from Nuriootpa and 1 hour from Adelaide.

At the Barossa Valley Golf Club you can enjoy a relaxing game of golf in a true bush setting complimented with Kangaroos wandering the course as you play and an array of bird life.

Ben Hook from the Sunday Mail and Royal Adelaide Teaching Professional Daniel Blackwell review three holes today the 4th, 5th and 15th. Will any of these make the Country 9 Best holes in SA?

First up the short 4th hole, a 280m par 4. The fairway is littered with bunkers on this hole, but if you can carry the sand on the right hand side you should end up in a good spot….you don’t want to run too far though.

This par 4 is a clever little hole, its tight and can find you out. It’s one of those holes where you pencil in a three standing on the tee, but end up walking off with a five!

Next up is the 5th hole a 477m par 5 with a big dog-leg right to left. This hole should suit Daniels strong draw and Ben’s power fade or as he puts it ‘amateur slice’. A sweeping hole right to left, worth a try.

The final hole in contention at Barossa Valley for the top 9 Country Golf holes is the 146m Par 3, 15th. Both players hit the dance floor off the tee, but can anyone make birdie?

Barossa Valley Golf Club bills itself as having ‘The perfect blend….the golf. the course. the culture’.

Very true.
