Australia will be represented by New South Wales trio Brett Drewitt, Matt Stieger, Jake Higginbottom, Tasmania s Kalem Richardson, Queensland s Tim Hart and Victorian Rory Bourke. England will be led by recent NSW Amateur medal winner Andy Sullivan, NSW Amateur champion Jack Senior, Andy Sullivan, Stiggy Hodgson, Darren Wright, David Coupland and Neil Raymond. The players will compete in morning foursomes and afternoon singles match play on both days. Held three times previously- at both Moonah Links in Victoria and Royal Birkdale Golf Club in England- both teams have tasted victory although the Australians will look to avenge a heavy away defeat to England in 2009. Golf Australia High Performance Director Brad James said the tournament represented important international level match play experience for all players. We are extremely fortunate to have Elanora Country Club host this tournament in what will be a showcase of high-level golf, James said. It’s important that our players get experience against international opponents and this is a wonderful opportunity for the boys test their games against the best players in England. Spectators are welcome and entry to the tournament is free. The 2011 Ashes will be held at Elanora Country Club from 8-9 February.
