Elite NSW amateurs make way to USA

A number of Elite NSW Amateurs have made their way to the USA to compete on the summer amateur circuit. In relation to the women Cathleen Santoso and Carly Beck played in the US Women&aposs Amateur qualifying at Prospector Golf Course. Unfortunately both girls missed the qualifying score of +4. For supporters of Cathleen Santoso, Cathleen has commenced a blog site in which she is providing updates of her trip and also as she moves into the next phase of her life as a US College student. Brett Drewitt, Callan O&aposReilly and Jordan Zunic all commenced their US campaign at the Sahalee Players Championship at Sahalee Country Club in Washington. Brett Drewitt finished best T15th on +7. Both Callan and Jordan finished on +14 to finish T44th. The winner was Andrew Yun a recent graduate from Standford University on -1. Brady Watt(WA) was the leading Australian finishing at + 5 T10th. Full field scores are available here. All three will now move onto the Players Amateur to be held Berkeley Hall GC in South Carolina. The winner of this event gets a start in the 2014 RBC Heritage Classic. A PGA Tour event held in April next year, so it would be good to see a NSW player win the title and make it back to back Australian winners of this event. Queenslander Daniel Nisbet took out the event last year.
