Victorian golfer Brenna Elliott, not yet a professional, has agonisingly missed out on a Category 12 (Full Status) membership of the LPGA Tour when losing out in a playoff between seven players for four positions. Elliott finished in a share of 17th when the 90 hole test was completed today and was then required to compete with six other competitors over three holes with the best aggregate determining who would claim the all important remaining full membership cards for 2013. Two of the seven in the playoff claimed their spots over the opening three holes but four more were tied for the third and fourth positions. Elliott, Irene Cho, Kelly Jacques and Nicole Jeray headed for the 10th tee for a sudden death shootout where all four parred and so it was again to the 18th hole. Cho and Jeray managed to birdie the par five and so Elliott and Jacques were forced to settle for the Category 17 Membership which will offer some starts on the LPGA Tour in 2013 but without the certainty that Full Membership offers. Frances Bondad and Stephanie Na also secured Category 17 membership after they finished 24th and 39th respectively.
