Elliott qualifies for final stage LPGA Q-School

Final Round Report

National Squad member Breanna Elliott is one of 5 Australians to qualify for the final stage of LPGA Q-School in November.

Despite a final round 77, Elliott finished in a tie for 8th place at 3-under par.

Rookie Squad member Stephanie Na finished in a tie for 14th place at 1-under par.

Jessica Speechley finished at 2-over par in a tie for 28th while Ladies European Tour player Frances Bondad finished in a tie for 40th at 4-over.

Melbourne professional Inhong Lim made the cut on the number.

This week’s tournament was the second of the three-part annual qualifying tournament held to determine 2013 membership on both the LPGA and Symetra Tour. This year marks the second time all of the qualifying events will be staged in the state of Florida.

The final Stage III Q-school will be contested over 90 holes Nov. 28 through Dec. 2, on both the Champions and Legends courses at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Florida. Top finishers in the final stage will earn 2013 LPGA membership (total number of cards TBD) and all others who make the cut will receive Symetra Tour status.

Round 3 Report

The Australian contingent at the second stage of LPGA Qualifying School is right in the mix following the third round in Florida.

Breanna Elliott has maintained her hold a top 2 spot with a third round 2-under par 70 at the Panther Course at Plantation Golf and Country Club in Florida.

Elliott, from Victoria, is tied in second with well known England pro Melissa Reid and Colorado’s Kelly Jacques at 8-under par after three rounds.

Former National Squad member Stephanie Na is in 10th place at 4-under par and Western Australia’s Jessica Speechley is in a tie for 19th place following a third round 70 (-2) to be at 2-under for the championship.

Frances Bondad is in a tie for 47th at 2-over par.

Round 2 Report

National Squad member Breanna Elliott posted a second round 7-under par 65 to move into second place at the second stage of LPGA Q-School at Plantation Golf and Country Club in Venice, Florida.

Elliott recently represented Australia at the Espirito Santo Trophy in Turkey where the team finished third.

Symetra Tour professional Katie Burnett leads after she fired a 4-under par 68 to take the second-round lead of stage two.

Elliott opened with a 1-over par 73.
