It was a disappointing day at The Amateur Championship with three of the four Australian hopefuls losing. The only shining light was Harrison Endycott (NSW) who won 2&1 to advance to last 32.
Harrison talked about keeping in control during the Stroke Play stage and took the same mindset into the Match Play.He made sure he paid Carnoustie the respect it deserved on a very tough and windy day (clearly the toughest of The Amateur so far).
“I wanted to make sure I made Pierre (French opponent Pierre Mazier) play every hole and every shot. I wanted to put the pressure on that way, by not giving any easy holes. I am happy with the way I played, it was really tough.” Endycott said.
Harrison will tee off at 9.23am tomorrow against another Frenchman, Romain Langasque, with a win meaning he would play again tomorrow afternoon in the round of 16.
