The championship is contested over 36 holes of stroke play with an 18 hole Fourball Stableford event preceding. The Championship is open to male amateur golfers with a current Golf Australia Handicap, and who are members of a golf club affiliated through their District Golf Association with Golf Queensland, or other State/National Associations.
