Entries closing for Australian Mid Amateur

Time is running out to be part of this year’s Australian Mid Amateur Championship near Geelong.

Entries are open for the annual event, this year hosted by The Sands Torquay, from 9-11 November.

The national championship tournament continues to prove popular for players aged 30-54 and will again be played over 54 holes of stroke play.

A maximum GA handicap limit of 5.4 for men and 19.0 for women applies, with entry fee of $150 including three rounds of championship golf, one practice round, sandwich and drink on championship days, presentation drinks and canapés, range balls and pull buggies.

The Sands Torquay, designed by Australian Open champion Stuart Appleby, is a links-style course which intriguingly winds its way through the land behind the sand dunes of Zeally Bay on Victoria’s Surf Coast.

Located just over an hour’s drive from Melbourne, and a 30-minute drive from Avalon Airport, the course also features on-course accommodation operated by Peppers.

Last year’s winners were Mark Boulton (Vic) and Melissa Luk (WA) at Queensland’s Arundel Hills Country Club.
