Entries closing soon for Men’s Senior Amateur

Entries for the Australian Men’s Senior Amateur Championship close on 26 August 2014.

The event will be played at Mandurah Country Club, one hour south of Perth from 30 September to 1 October.

Entries have been received from all over Australia for the 54-hole stroke play event which is contested over three days. The handicap limit for 2014 is 8.4 and the $160 entry fee includes a player gift, practice round, 3 rounds of golf and presentation reception.

The event is in its 34rd year, having been played since 1981, and with the winner claiming the Kerry Packer Trophy, it is Australia’s premier men’s senior event.

New Zealander Murray Martin will hopefully be back to defend his title along fellow countryman Rodney Barltrop who won the Championship in 2004, 2005 and 2009.

Three time winner Stefan Albinski (NSW) will be vying for another title, along with two time champion Denis Dale (NSW) however they are sure to face some tough competition from locals Ian McPherson (WA) and Graham Bowen (WA) who will be looking for a title in their home state.
