Entries closing soon for Mid-Amateur titles

Entries for the Australian Men’sand Women’s Mid Amateur Championships to be played from 13 to 15 November close on 15 October 2013. The Championships, in their seventh year, will be played at Moonah Links Golf Club located on Victoria s spectacular Mornington Peninsula. The venue of the 2003 and 2005 Australian Opens, competitors have the opportunity to test their game on the fairways walked by Peter Lonard and Robert Allenby, the two Open Champions in those years. Defending champion Andrew Tharle (ACT) will be back to defend his title and will be one of the favourites along with four time champion Jason Perry (Vic). NRL player Braith Anasta (NSW) has also entered to play and is sure to be in the mix with a handicap of +0.4. In the Women’s event, 2012 champion Sue Wooster (Vic) will be back to defend her title whilst Jane MacDonald (NSW) and Tanya Kirker (NT) will also be contenders. Whilst some of the very best golfers contest for the National Title on the field, the Championship also features a Welcome Barbecue on the Tuesday evening, and Presentation Drinks and Canap s on Friday afternoon. A maximum handicap limit of 4.4 for men and 18.4 for women applies, with the entry fee of $150 including three rounds of Championship golf, one practice round, Presentation Drinks and Canapes, range balls and pull buggies, and a Championship Gift and Tournament Program. There is still accommodation available for players at Moonah Links for the special rate of $160 per night.
