Entries Open – Barrenjoey Week of Golf

Entries are open for The 2016 Barrenjoey Peninsula Week of Golf (BWOG).

Over 600 women are expected to converge on the Northern Beaches to participate in the outstanding tournament which is becoming one the most popular amateur women’s golf competitions in the Southern Hemisphere.

Entrants have the opportunity to enjoy seven beautiful Northern Beaches Golf Courses – Bayview, Cromer, Long Reef, Manly, Mona Vale, Monash and Wakehurst all for a small entry fee.

Christine Hanbury-Brown the overall Nett 36 Holes Winner this year said “it was a pleasure to compete in the Barrenjoey Week of Golf – the atmosphere was friendly. I had a great time meeting other golfers and playing all the lovely Northern Beaches courses.”

Besides being a wonderful experience, the Barrenjoey Peninsula Week of Golf’s aim is to raise much needed funds for charity. Once again the nominated charity for 2016 is the Manly Women’s Shelter.

“The Shelter is community-based, non-profit and non-government organisation,” says Julia Lever, Manager of the Manly Women’s Shelter.

“We are grateful to the BWOG Committee for the support which enables us to help the homeless and women at risk. Last year the contribution paid for a social worker/case worker one day a week for a year.”

The BWOG is open to all women players with a current Australian or Overseas Golf Handicap, and, as there is no handicap limit, anyone can participate.

The competition will be run from February 8  to 12, 2016.
