Entries are open for the Australian Women’s Senior Amateur to be played at Sandy Creek Golf Club in the Barossa Valley from 22-26 October.
The championship is open to women aged 55 years and over, with a maximum handicap of 20. Players contest 36-holes qualifying, with the leading 16 players progressing to match play rounds. Eight players from four age flights also progress to match play flights. A handicap competition is held in conjunction with the first two rounds of qualifying, as well as a State Teams Event which always enhances the state rivalry.
Included in the entry fee of $120 is a complimentary practice round, a player gift, the welcome reception on Tuesday evening, and the Presentation reception on Friday afternoon.
Sandy Creek Golf Club is in the Barossa Valley wine region and the picturesque course provides the complete golfing experience, with superbly manicured greens, lush fairways and several holes featuring well positioned water hazards and bunkers.
The challenging sand belt course is widely recognised for having some of the best putting surfaces in South Australia and in 2017 & 2016 was named the Regional Club of the Year (small).
