ies are now open for the 2014 Australian Junior Championships to be played from 9-11 April in Victoria’s Yarra Valley region.
The Boys’ Championship will be played at Heritage Golf and Country Club and the Girls’ Championship will be played at Yering Meadows Golf Club.
With last year’s Boys’ Champion Anthony Murdaca (SA) having left the junior ranks, the Championship is wide open. Victorians Ryan Ruffels and Zach Murray are amongst the top contenders as well as Australian Amateur runner-up Curtis Luck (WA).
In the Girls’ Championship defending Champion and National Squad Member Minjee Lee (WA) will be back to defend her title in her final year in the junior ranks, along with 2012 Champion Su-Hyun Oh (Vic). Fellow national squad member Hannah Green (WA) will also be a top contender along with Australian Women’s Amateur runner-up Karis Davidson (Qld)
Both events have stellar honour rolls, with past winners including Adam Scott, Jason Day, Wendy Doolan and Jan Stephenson.
With a place in the Australian Open field up for grabs for both winners, there will be plenty of tension come the final round.
The handicap limit for boys is 4.4 and for girls is 15.4.
