Entries open for Srixon Australian Amateurs

Entries are now open for the Srixon Australian Men’sand Women’s Amateur Championships, incorporating both the Australian Men’sand Women’s Stroke Play Championships. The 2011 Championships will be played on Melbourne s sandbelt the Women’s Stroke Play and Qualifying will be played at Huntingdale Golf Club, with the Men’sStroke Play and Qualifying at Woodlands Golf Club and Victoria Golf Club. The Championships will culminate with the match play rounds for the Srixon Australian Amateur titles at Victoria Golf Club from 21-23 March. With both last year s winners – Matt Jager and Stacey Keating – having turned professional, the door is ajar for new champions, with both winners receiving exemptions into the Australian Open Championships. The Ross Herbert National and International Teams Trophies will be contested by various countries. Each State and International body will again nominate two males and two females, with the winner being the national and international teams with the lowest aggregate score over the first two stroke play rounds. Both Championships date back to 1894, with past winners being some of the best names in Australian golf. With the men’s handicap limit of 2.0 and the women’s 6.4, players are encouraged to enter as soon as possible. Please click here for further information regarding the Srixon Women’s Amateur.
