The Keysborough Senior Amateur kicks off a busy week of golf for Keysborough as it hosts a series of tournaments over the next few days, including the Pro-Am on Thursday. Played in brilliant sunshine, the club welcomed 72 players to their 18-hole stroke event.
Alan Evans fired an impressive 75 on the par 73 layout to narrowly claim victory. The Royal Melbourne member edged out Mick Asami (Huntingdale) and Michael Doutch (Woodlands) by a mere shot to claim the Bachli title. Asami’s back nine secured him the count-back for runner-up over Doutch.
Meanwhile, Graeme Weller of the Yarra Yarra Golf Club was victorious in the nett section. The 10 marker had a 78 off the stick for a nett 68, convincingly winning the medalist honours from Michael Louey of Thirteenth Beach (h’cap 8) with a nett 71.
Next event on the senior calendar is the 54-hole Royal Melbourne Seniors Classic starting next Monday 19 January 2015.
