Victorian Under 16 Junior Classics

Stuart Appleby Junior Golf runs these popular events 4 times throughout the year. Generally played on the last Friday of each school holiday period, these events are a great challenge for regular junior players and a stepping stone for those children looking for their first competitive experience.

Rookie Series (9 Holes)

The ROOKIE SERIES encompasses 9 hole events at golf courses across Victoria, for players under 16 years of age. Clubs are encouraged to nominate 9 hole events from their existing club junior/cadet program, as part of the Rookie Series. Events include 9 hole "Club Junior Events" and also 9 hole events run by Golf Victoria.

Regional Series (18 Holes – Individual)

The REGIONAL SERIES is contested over 18-holes for juniors with handicaps, the maximum handicap being 32 (boys) and 36 (girls).  Played in handicap divisions, with C Division (20+ h'cap) playing stableford.

Club Teams Championship (18 Holes – Team)

The CLUB TEAMS championship is played each year giving all juniors a chance to represent their club or district in a Teams format competition.

Junior Tournaments (Under 21 Years)

 

Southern Junior Classic (36 Holes)

Hosted each year at Southern GC on the Melbourne Sandbelt right after the Victorian Junior Masters. 

 

Yarrawonga Junior Open (36 Holes)

Contested each year at the Yarrawonga Mulwala Golf Resort on the fabulous Murray and Lake courses.

 
Leongatha Junior Tournament (36 Holes)

Played at the Leongatha Golf Club in the heart of beautiful South Gippsland

 

Peninsula Junior Open  (36 Holes)

This event is played on the picturesque Mornington Peninsula at Sorrento and Portsea GC.

 

Stuart Appleby Signature Tournament (18 Holes)

Hosted at Gardiners Run Golf Club – one of the most popular events each year

 

Murray River Junior Masters (72 Holes)

Challenged on the Murray River at Cobram Barooga and Tocumwal GC.  72 holes of great golf awaits.
