ex AFL star Bruce Lindner guns for SA Mid Amateur title

&aposThe President&apos Bruce Lindner in action for Geelong &apos85-90&apos A field of 45 men and 12 women will contest the 2013 South Australian Mid-Amateur Championship. The 36 hole strokeplay event is being played at The Links Lady Bay Golf Club on Saturday 23 & Sunday 24 November. The Championship is open to all male and female amateur golfers aged between 30 to 54 years as at Saturday 23rd November 2013. These players must be members of Clubs affiliated with Golf SA or State or overseas associations. The Men’sHandicap Limit is 18 and Women’s 27. The Men’slow marker is former SA Amateur Champion Phil Chapman from Mt Barker/Hahndorf Golf Club playing off a handicap of plus 1.5 followed by Tony Nobbs from The Vines of Reynella Golf Club (0.4 handicap). Patrick Mentzel (West Lakes) who was victorious last year by one stroke with rounds of 78-75 (153) is back to defend his title. In the Women’s event 8 handicapper Debra Percey from Kooyonga Golf Club heads the field along with Nicolle Rantanen from The Grange (handicap 10). News Limited employee and former tennis professional Jesper Fjeldstad (Marion Park GC), former Glenelg and St Kilda ruckman Wayne Thornborrow (Links Lady Bay GC) and former West Adelaide/Geelong and Adelaide spearhead Bruce Lindner (The Grange GC) will all be teeing off in the Championship.
