Families that play together

Jack and Ingrid Bellaart proved to be the best mixed family combination today taking the 2014 Victorian Family Championship Mixed title at Barwon Heads. These Spring Valley members are husband and wife who share the passion for the game. They certainly took advantage to the perfect weather conditions on the Bellarine peninsula to have a remarkable score of 46 points in the Four Ball stableford format. This is the second time that the Bellaarts have taken part in the event and, according to Jack, they saw a significant improvement in their score this year.

In the meantime, husband and wife Garry and Jenny Day did their club proud. Their 44 points made them the runners up on a count back from the Forsyths (Hamilton). The Days were one of the five pairs participating in the event from Gisborne Golf Club. The event was well supported by the clubs with over 45 Victorian clubs being represented amongst the 82 players.

The Family Championship continues tomorrow as the men’s and women’s pairs will take to the course at 8:00am with another good weather day forecasted for them.
