Flanagan well in contention

Australia&aposs Nick Flanagan is sitting in second place at the halfway mark of the Reno-Tahoe open in Nevada. Flanagan shot the second best round of the day, 65, to charge up the leaderboard. His round included eight birdies and just one bogey. Joining Flanagan at 10-under overall is John Merrick, Larry Mize and Brian Davis. However, they will have a hard time hauling in leader Parker McLachlin, who shot an incredible 10 birdies on his way to a 62 and a four stroke lead. Andrew Buckle continued his fine form with a solid three-under par 69 to take him to five-under for the tournament and a tie for 21st place. Steve Elkington, Gavin Coles and Matt Jones were the only other Australians to make the cut, but have a lot of work to do if they are to challenge the leaders. Nathan Green and Mark Hensby just missed the cut, while Steve Allan and David Lutterus also won&apost be playing the weekend.
