The Emirates Australian Open is under way in pristine conditions at The Australian Golf Club.
Most of the smoke that has hovered around the area in recent days cleared to a beautiful morning in Rosebery as two of Golf Australia's MyGolf participants, Sondrine Bethke and Liam Kelly, struck the ceremonial opening shots from the first and 10th tees.
Big crowds are expected in Sydney for the 104th playing of the national Open, with one of Australia's top players, Marc Leishman, teeing off early alongside outstanding young Queenslander Cameron Smith and the defending champion, Mexico's Abraham Ancer.
In the afternoon there will be a strong focus on 2010 champion Adam Scott, who goes alongside Spain's Sergio Garcia and England's Paul Casey at 11.50pm.
