‘The event that is putting the Fleurieu Peninsula on the Australian ‘Golfing Map’.
Four of the top regional golf courses in South Australia have partnered to host an annual golf event that is creating interest all over Australia.
Around 100 players came from all over the country last week for the Fleurieu Peninsula Golf Championship, played over 18 holes, at each of the four venues (Victor Harbor, McCracken, Links Lady Bay and Fleurieu), with the overall competition across 4 days.
The event was a huge success with entries from SA, Vic, NT, QLD and NSW.
The Men's Championship (The Murray Crafter Cup) was won by local golfer, David Ling from McCracken.
The Ladies Champion was Marion Venn from Terang, Victoria ahead of Alice Springs golfer, Tanya Kirker.
The Ladies nett winner was Glenda Clarke from Warnambool, Vic
Men's B Grade – Nick Dehey from Lang Lang, VIC
Men's C Grade – Jeff Croser from Whyalla, SA
Main sponsors were Serafino Wines, SA Tourism Commission, Drummond Golf.
